The Tale of Two Cats

DeQueen vs. Booneville

To kick off the game, we talked to the cheerleaders from DeQueen and Booneville. DeQueen cheerleaders are excited about how well their team is doing. They are especially proud of #54, Katie Sterns, and her achievements during the 1997-98 basketball season. Although the cheerleaders from Booneville are not quite sure what a "Bearcat" is they are prepared to cheer their Lady Cats on to victory. With the help of power forward, Lindsey Shirey, they hope to make it to the semifinals, to be played tomorrow night.

At halftime the Booneville Lady Bearcats found their selves on top with a score of 25 to 23, but do not count the Lady Leopards out to soon. We are sure they will come out fighting in the second half.

The tension rises as we begin the third quarter of what has proved to be a great game, with DeQueen now on top by six.

The lead changed hands so much in the final minutes, the game resembled a ping-pong match. As we come to the final seconds of the game a time out was called by Booneville. The shot fired by player #23, rolled around the rim, but was not good, making for the DeQueen victory, 57 to 55.
