THE TROJANS LOSE ANOTHER WAR!!!

Trinity York

March 5, 1998

The Panthers launched the historical Trojan Horse and defeated Marianna.

Wrestling the tip away, Clarksville's Steven Willis put in a three pointer to start the game. The first quarter was a little dead with only basic shots from inside. The final score of the quarter was 18-6; Clarksville.

At the beginning of the second period, the teams missed twin dunks. Then Caleb Hilton stepped up with two free-throws, as did his teammate, Michael Pellman. Jeremiah Billups from Marianna soon sank two of his own. He then hit a three from way out, and joining him from the three-point line was his team member Erwin Hill. The half-time score was Panthers-35; Trojans-22.

Casey Fisher brought up a break-away lay-up, and Hill from the other team made a shot from outside. Jeremy Lingan rebounded a free-throw and went back up with it for two. On the other end of the court, Taylor McDaniel decided to go through the defenders for a power shot. The third period ended with a score of 52-33 and the Panthers out in front.

The Trojans came back in the fourth with a tight press. After several failed attempts to get the ball inbounds, the Panthers made a long pass to a man posisitioned at the other end of the court. For Marianna, Emanuel Wade put in a sweet dunk in an attempt to gain control. However, an airball from the Trojans and a stray ball picked up by Casey Fisher gave Clarksville the chance to keep control of the ball. The final score of this fast-paced game was 70-55 with the Trojans on top.
