LADY PIRATES SET SAIL FOR THE STATE FINALS!!

What a game!! If you weren't at the game tonight, you missed a great game! The Drew Central Lady Pirates were victors over the Lamar Lady Warriors, but not easily. The competition started out evenly matched and stayed that way throughout the entire game. In the first quarter Drew Central carried the lead of 18 to 14, yet the Warriors did not give up the torturous fighting. They gained the lead by the end of the second quarter 30 to 29. In the third, Lamar increased their lead to 42 to 39. However, the fourth quarter belonged to the Pirates as they took advantage of their many free throw opportunities. Tremesha Colbert was the leading scorer and the rebounder in the final quarter. Also, she was the game leader with 21 points. Sandi Corey was Lamar's leading scorer with 19. Even though Lamar tried desperately to regain the lead, the Pirates were victorious with a final score of 58 to 52.
