OZARK HILLBILLIES

VS.

HIGHLAND REBELS

By: Karen C.

The ladies of Ozark and the ladies of Highland played the first game Wednesday, March 4, 1998. The game tipped off at 1:00 with much fan support. I asked the teams' supporters who had been the best players throughout the game, and they responded that Ozark Hillbillies choices were #12, a senior, Lacy Johnson, #3,a junior, Stacy Leding, and #4, Audraia Quelle. The Highland Rebels choice was the TEAM EFFORT. They said that each came in handy and took up the slack of the others and there was no one perfect person but plural ones for all the spots played.

When I asked the cheerleaders to choose their Most Valuable Player, the cheerleaders picked #12 for the Ozark Hillbillies and #25 for the Highland Rebels.

There were many plays in the game that made it both successfull and exciting. The 2nd Quarter ended as a three-point shot was attempted by the Hillbillies. The half time score was 27-14 with the lead going to the Ozarks. Then the 3rd Quarter began with much heart-felt excitment as #5, Teresa Corp, from the Rebels stole the ball and # 23, Tonya Poussen, scored a much-needed three-point shot. Another three-point shot was made in the 3rd quarter with only 19 seconds left when Ozark made the shot. There was another during the 4th quarter with 6 minutes remaining in the game. The Rebels #5 made a three-pointer with 1:28 left in the 4th quarter to make the score 54-33 with the Ozark Hillbillies still in the lead.

The final score was 58-35.
