DOLLARWAY COMES OUT ON TOP!!
The game started out evenly matched and ended the same way. It began with a tip that went out of bounds. The crowd was just as involved as the players for both sides. It felt more like I was watching a tennis match than a basketball game because the ball kept going up and down the court with each team. In the first quarter, the Cardinals took a small but early lead. In the second, # 23 , Dedrick Jackson from Robinson, made a three that hit nothin' but net. However, Dollarway's Everett Stocker made an excellent pass inside to Marcus Harris for two! While, his team-mate Martin Washington put in his two cents with two freethrows. The score at half-time was 39-35, Dollarway, but the Senators were not through fighting. When they came back from the break Dee Dee Drake dribbled through three defenders for the shot and the foul. Dollarway was not about to give up though; they came right back with a break-away lay-up by Derrick Kirklin. Even at the end of the third period, Dollarway still held the lead that they started in the first with a score of 50- 46. In the fourth, the Senators came back strong. With two quick shots from the baseline, and a great spin move by #22, they got back into the game. Quintus Wilborn was fouled and made both shots. As soon as the second free-throw went up, Carl Vaught got the same treatment and made his shots. With a minute and thirty-six seconds left on the clock, Monzell Guest tied the score 64. Dollarway worked the ball around the edge while the clock wound down, then went in for a shot. Everett Stocker missed but was fouled . With five seconds to go, Everett sank one out of two free-throws to win the ball game!
