Drew Central vs. Farmington

The capacity of the gym was filled for the third semi-final game of the of the night between the Drew Central Lady Pirates and the Farmington Cardinals. The first half action proved to be a treat for all the fans with the Lady Cardinals jumping to an early lead. The score at the end of the first quarter was 21 to 16, in Farmington's favor. After fighting back in the second quarter the Lady Pirates took a lead of seven at half-time.

During half-time we visited with the fans. Two spastic fans from Drew Central had this to say. "Our Lady Pirates are AWESOME!" Another Pirate fan made the comment, "These girls have talent that is rarely seen." Moving to the opposite side of the scene, Farmington fans could not stop cheering long enough to talk with us.

In the third quarter the teams were evenly matched and the lead changed on every possession. The quarter ended tied at 45.

In the fourth, Farmington was the first to score, but Drew Central answered quickly. Shouts of "Defense" were heard from both schools. The schools definitely have the support of their fans. In the final minutes of the game, the Lady Cardinals stretched the lead to five, six, seven, and the Pirates went down from there. Although they fought to the bitter end, they still fell short with the final score being 63 to 56, but no matter what, we still love our Lady Pirates!!
