COURSE GOAL

To create productive students that will create accurate, meaningful, and attractive publications for one of the fastest growing occupations in the U.S. while strengthening literacy and interpersonal/communication skills.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is an upper level/one-semester course teamed with Multimedia Applications I that combines the versatility of the microcomputer with page design software enabling students to produce publications near photo-typed quality.

§         Creating documents in Microsoft Word

 

TEXT/Materials

Word Processing to Desktop Publishing Applications and Exercises.  SW Publishing Ó 1994.  Iris Blanc.

Handouts: Teacher-made illustrating desktop publishing concepts, book made, and student-shared 

Supplies:  3-ring binder (2”), loose-leaf paper, dividers, pen/pencil (EVERYDAY) !!!!!!!

 

Teaching Methods

Lecture/Discussions – class will be used to highlight the important material in the text through class discussion, group work, handouts, presentations, and demos.  Students are encouraged to actively participate in discussions—called upon often to enhance communication and interpersonal skills.
